Describes themself as: Hi there! I'm a polymathic, semi-wandering insatiable learner and photographing fool. Growing up in Michigan, I was always near a lake and love the water, the beach and the woods. Spending part of the endless winter in Florida this year, I fell in love with the ocean all over again, too. Many of the images here are from that visit. Every beach has its own character from the texture of the sand, the temperature of the water and the amount of clothing people wear there! Also, how many small children are there, how many dogs and how many bartenders!

Relax . . . unwind . . . or just dive in! There's a beach somewhere just waiting for you! Imagine the sun warming your shoulders, the gritty sand between your toes, the cool ocean or lake water lapping around your knees while you hear the gulls screeching above and the waves smacking onto the shore.

I call the spirit of the beach Carpe Litum™. Carpe Litum™ means to seize your time on the beach and enjoy it to the fullest, whether swimming, beachcombing, sunning, picnicing, playing volleyball, surfing, snorkeling, sandcastling, all of it!
